Abu dhabi: In a pivotal move for the global media and creative industries, Abdulla bin Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed announced the establishment of the BRIDGE Alliance, a groundbreaking international organization aimed at promoting inclusivity, diversity, and impact across the media, content, and entertainment sectors.
According to Emirates News Agency, the BRIDGE Alliance, based in the UAE, is chaired by Al Hamed and is a unique global entity that brings together an influential board comprising former heads of state, global leaders, policymakers, and CEOs from various sectors. These sectors include media, communication, technology, finance, and creativity, all united to foster a more collaborative and forward-thinking content ecosystem.
The announcement took place during the inaugural meeting of the BRIDGE Alliance Board of Directors in Abu Dhabi, marking the official launch of the organization’s leadership and strategic agenda. The UAE, known for its role as a cultural and economic crossroads, is the foundation for the BRIDGE Alliance, which aims to establish a connected, resilient, and ethical global media framework based on collaboration and responsibility.
The Alliance reinvests all operational surpluses into research, capacity building, and cross-sector collaboration, driving innovation, inclusivity, and sustainable growth within the global media and creative landscapes. The Board of Directors serves as the primary governing body, offering strategic oversight and policy direction in alignment with the founding principles of the Alliance.
The Board includes prominent global figures such as Her Royal Highness Princess Lamia bint Majed Al Saud, Macky Sall, Dr. Jamal Mohammed Obaid Al Kaabi, Jessica Sibley, Janet Yang, Dr. Julie Gichuru, Daniil Shuleyko, Sanford Climan, Richard Attias, and Maryam bin Fahad. The diverse expertise of these leaders is aimed at creating an equitable, impactful, and sustainable media future.
Abdulla bin Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed emphasized that the BRIDGE Alliance is a humanitarian and economic initiative originating from the UAE, designed to redefine media’s relationship with society and the economy. The Alliance aims to build bridges of understanding, impact, and growth among nations during a time when unity and inspiration are critically needed.
Dr. Jamal Mohammed Al Kaabi, Vice Chairman of BRIDGE Alliance, highlighted the organization’s role as an interconnected network linking creators, investors, decision-makers, and innovators. This platform is designed to enhance cooperation, build trust, and unlock new opportunities for shared growth within the media, content, and entertainment sectors.
Richard Attias elaborated on the dual governance model of the Alliance, comprising the Board of Directors and the Advisory Board, which ensures clarity, consistency, and credibility as BRIDGE evolves into a permanent global organization.
The Board discussed preparations for the BRIDGE Summit 2025, slated to be the world’s largest debut media event, taking place from December 8th to 10th, 2025, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. The Summit aims to bring together 400 global speakers, 300 exhibitors, and over 60,000 participants to shape new partnerships, policies, and investments in the global content economy.
Maryam bin Fahad, Managing Director of BRIDGE Alliance, noted that every aspect of the BRIDGE Summit 2025 is strategically designed to advance collaboration, innovation, and sustainable growth within the global content economy. The Summit’s integrated approach ensures that discussions and interactions lead to tangible outcomes, contributing to the development of new frameworks and opportunities in media, content, and entertainment.
The BRIDGE Alliance, from its UAE headquarters, seeks to become a leading global hub for innovation, policy guidance, and collaboration in media, content, and entertainment. By integrating cross-sector initiatives and developing talent, the Alliance aims to set the global agenda for responsible media growth, beginning with the landmark BRIDGE Summit 2025 in Abu Dhabi.
