Astana: Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, received Dr. Omar Habtoor Al Darei, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, and Zakat, during the 8th Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions in Astana. The meeting was also attended by Dr. Mohammed Saeed Al Ariqi, UAE Ambassador to Kazakhstan.
According to Emirates News Agency, President Tokayev extended a warm welcome to Dr. Al Darei and his delegation, emphasizing the robust relationship between Kazakhstan and the United Arab Emirates. He highlighted the significant progress achieved in various sectors, attributing the success to the strong ties between the two nations’ leaderships and citizens.
President Tokayev expressed his deep appreciation for the UAE’s global humanitarian initiatives and its leadership’s efforts in promoting international peace, coexistence, tolerance, and harmony. He acknowledged the UAE’s role in fostering these values on the world stage.
In response, Dr. Al Darei conveyed greetings from President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, wishing continued prosperity for Kazakhstan. Both parties discussed the importance of collaboration between nations and religious organizations to uphold human values. They emphasized the role of modern technology and artificial intelligence in promoting a culture of coexistence and tolerance.
The meeting concluded with a mutual agreement on the necessity of enhancing cooperation among societies with diverse beliefs to achieve stability, security, and development, which are essential for prosperity and a fulfilling life.
