UAE and Indonesia Collaborate to Launch Executive Leaders Programme and ’10 Million Coders’ Initiative


Jakarta: The Government of the United Arab Emirates has initiated a significant collaboration with Indonesia, marked by the launch of the Executive Leaders Programme and the ’10 Million Coders’ initiative. Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, highlighted these ventures as part of a strategic partnership aimed at government modernisation, emphasizing the UAE’s commitment to global knowledge partnerships focusing on talent development and future readiness.



According to Emirates News Agency, the initiatives were announced during the Government Knowledge Exchange Forum held in Jakarta. This event underscored the commitment of both nations to exchange expertise and share best practices in government development. The Executive Leaders Programme seeks to empower senior government officials in Indonesia, while the ’10 Million Coders’ initiative aims to equip Indonesian youth with essential digital skills for the modern economy.



The UAE delegation to the Forum included key figures such as Abdulla Nasser Lootah, Assistant Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Competitiveness and Experience Exchange, and Abdulaziz AlJaziri, Deputy CEO of the Dubai Future Foundation. On the Indonesian side, notable participants included Dr. Nezar Patria, Vice Minister for Communications and Informatics, and Teguh Setyabudi, Director General of Population and Civil Registration at the Ministry of Home Affairs.



The Forum focused on various themes, including strategy, innovation, and government performance, with discussions on AI and future foresight. Abdulla Nasser Lootah expressed the UAE’s commitment to international cooperation in government experience exchange, emphasizing its impact on societal wellbeing and future generations. Dr. Nezar Patria highlighted the strong bilateral ties and shared commitment to digital transformation and human capital development.



The ’10 Million Indonesian Coders’ initiative is a prominent effort within the strategic partnership, aiming to empower youth with digital skills essential for participating in the global digital economy. The Executive Leadership Programme will focus on developing leadership and managerial skills among Indonesian government officials, sharing the UAE’s experiences in government modernisation.



The UAE’s Government Experience Exchange Programme, launched in 2018, continues to promote the exchange of best practices and foster cooperation in government modernisation and development. This collaborative effort with Indonesia is a testament to the UAE’s ongoing mission to build institutional capacity and enhance government performance globally.
