5.1 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Near Greece, Egypt Unaffected

Abu dhabi: A 5.1 magnitude earthquake struck near Greece in the eastern Mediterranean, with no impact felt in Egypt, according to the Egyptian National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics (NRIAG). The tremor occurred at 12:37:29 UTC on June 20, with its epicenter located in the sea area near Greece, registering a depth of 24.8 kilometers.

According to Emirates News Agency, the NRIAG reported that the earthquake was detected by its seismic network, pinpointing the epicenter approximately 611 kilometers from Marsa Matrouh. Despite the proximity, the institute confirmed that no reports had been received of the quake being felt within Egypt, and there were no recorded losses in terms of lives or property.
