Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, engaged in a telephone discussion with Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates. The discussion focused on enhancing the deep-rooted fraternal ties between the UAE and Egypt, aiming to boost cooperation and strategic partnerships in various fields to support mutual interests and the prosperity of their peoples.
According to Emirates News Agency, the ministers reviewed regional developments, particularly the unprovoked Iranian terrorist attacks targeting the UAE and other sisterly countries. They explored ways to further develop initiatives supporting regional security, stability, and sustainable peace.
The conversation also touched on the situation in the Gaza Strip, emphasizing the importance of implementing components of US President Donald Trump's plan to achieve regional security, stability, and development. Additionally, the ministers discussed Lebanon's situation, with Sheikh Abdullah reaffirming the UAE's support for Lebanon's unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
The tragic developments of the civil war in Sudan were also addressed, highlighting the importance of supporting efforts towards a humanitarian truce and permanent ceasefire. Both leaders stressed the need for political solutions and backing a civilian transition process reflecting the Sudanese people's aspirations for security and stability.
