Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority to Showcase Emirati Culture at Beijing Book Fair

Abu dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority is set to organize a series of heritage and cultural activities at the 32nd Beijing International Book Fair. The UAE will participate as the Guest of Honour from 17th to 21st June, showcasing its national pavilion, 'Al Bait Al Emarati'.

According to Emirates News Agency, the participation of the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority underscores its commitment to promoting Emirati heritage globally. The initiative aims to highlight heritage as a key component of national identity and a medium for cultural dialogue.

The Authority's involvement will feature demonstrations of traditional Emirati crafts, displays of Emirati attire, and performances of heritage arts like Al Shella and Al Taghrooda. These activities form part of the Authority's strategy to preserve and transmit cultural heritage to future generations while fostering partnerships with Chinese cultural institutions.

Additionally, the programme includes meetings with heritage organizations to explore collaboration opportunities and field visits to cultural sites. A panel discussion titled 'The Role of Cultural Institutions in Safeguarding and Promoting Heritage: A Comparative Perspective of the Chinese and Emirati Experiences' will also be held. This session will explore cultural experiences and the role of institutions in heritage preservation and promotion.
