Ajman: Under the leadership of H.H. Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of Ajman Executive Council, the Council has approved a new government media policy for the emirate of Ajman along with the first package of outcome indicators for Ajman Vision 2030. The decisions were made during the Council’s meeting today.

According to Emirates News Agency, the Council also deliberated on significant topics related to higher education, the economy, tourism, culture, and media. H.H. Sheikh Ammar emphasized that the endorsement of the media policy and performance indicators represents a significant advancement in governmental operations, showing Ajman’s dedication to improving transparency and efficiency aligned with Ajman Vision 2030. This move aims to bolster Ajman’s standing within the federal framework.

Sheikh Ammar highlighted the crucial role of media in development, noting that its function extends beyond news reporting to raising awareness and highlighting the emirate’s achievements in serving the community. The objective is to establish a government media system that reflects Ajman’s values and vision, operating as a cohesive unit within the national communication ecosystem.

The unified policy is designed to enhance Ajman’s image both locally and internationally, encourage a professional atmosphere that nurtures media innovation, and ensure consistent messaging across government entities. The government media policy offers a robust framework for coordinating communication efforts among government bodies, aiming to fortify unified official messaging and improve media readiness in all scenarios.

The endorsement follows a comprehensive presentation by the Ajman Government Media Office, which detailed the evolution of the emirate’s media landscape and initiatives that have bolstered its local and international presence by crafting a unified media narrative that portrays Ajman as a thriving development hub.

The presentation also outlined the stages of policy development and implementation strategies in line with the UAE’s move towards a modern, credible, and interactive government media model that engages the public and shares best practices. The policy seeks to build public trust through coordinated and professional practices that promote transparency and effective communication with diverse audiences, fostering collaboration among government entities.

Additionally, the Council approved the first package of outcome indicators for Ajman Vision 2030, which includes 13 indicators spanning four strategic directions: eight focused on the business environment and economic growth, two on national human capital development, one on quality of life and urban appeal, and two on culture and arts to promote cultural identity and support creative industries. This package is intended to activate the strategic performance measurement system and ensure ongoing monitoring of the vision’s implementation.

The indicators are meant to serve as a benchmark for assessing developmental impact across the economy, society, and quality of life while reflecting the government’s performance progress and alignment with the vision’s objectives.

H.H. Sheikh Ammar remarked that the approval of these indicators signifies a shift towards data- and results-oriented governance. He added that the upcoming phase will focus more on measuring the tangible impact of policies and initiatives, as the true value of any achievement lies in its effect on people’s lives and the quality of services provided. He stressed that the strategic indicators will boost government monitoring efficiency and decision-making, enhancing the emirate’s competitiveness and aligning with national progress in performance management.

The Council also gave the green light to the implementation plan for Law No. (1) of 2025 concerning the regulation of real estate contributions in Ajman, aimed at boosting transparency in the property market, safeguarding investors’ rights, and fostering a sustainable investment environment that fuels growth in the real estate sector, a key pillar of the local economy.

This initiative aligns with Ajman Vision 2030’s goals to achieve balanced urban development that improves quality of life and creates an attractive environment for business and investment. The Council instructed the formation of a joint committee to draft regulatory specifications and policies in preparation for launching a pilot system in selected urban sectors.

Moreover, the Council approved the implementation plan for local legislation of the Department of Tourism, Culture, and Media to create an integrated ecosystem that enhances Ajman’s reputation as an influential tourism, cultural, and media destination both locally and globally. The legislation aims to empower the department’s regulatory and supervisory roles, support cultural and artistic activities, develop creative industries, and attract events that showcase the emirate’s identity and its tourism and cultural assets, in line with Ajman Vision 2030’s aspiration to build a vibrant and creative city.

The Council also approved the final accounts for 2024, applauding the government entities’ financial discipline and underscoring the importance of continuing to improve spending efficiency and financial governance consistent with principles of transparency and sound management.

Furthermore, the Council reviewed the agreement on licensing and accrediting higher education institutions in the emirate in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, aimed at regulating the sector and ensuring the quality of academic outcomes in accordance with national higher education policies.

The meeting concluded with a focus on the continuous implementation of issued resolutions to enhance government integration and achieve the goals of Ajman Vision 2030.
