Al Qassimi Hospital Receives ‘Baby and Family Friendly’ Accreditation

Sharjah: Al Qassimi Women's and Children's Hospital, part of the Emirates Health Services, has been awarded the "Baby and Family Friendly" accreditation by the Sharjah Child Friendly Office of the Sharjah Health Authority. This recognition underscores the hospital's dedication to fostering a supportive environment for children and families, aligning with established standards.

According to Emirates News Agency, the accreditation process evaluated the hospital on various criteria, including sustainability, inclusivity, innovation, and organisational culture. The hospital was recognized for its commitment to developing internal policies that benefit both families and hospital staff, and for effectively communicating these policies through electronic newsletters.

The assessment involved a thorough examination of the benefits provided to employees and their families, attention to medical conditions affecting families, and the provision of flexible working conditions. Additionally, the hospital's efforts to forge community partnerships with organizations focused on childhood, adolescent, and family affairs were reviewed. The hospital's initiatives in launching awareness campaigns and offering support services aimed at promoting work-life balance were also taken into account.

The hospital team showcased their policies and practices, while the evaluation team conducted an on-site inspection to verify the initiatives and services in place. The outcome confirmed the hospital's eligibility for the accreditation.
