Dubai:The 28th edition of the Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) is scheduled to take place from October 20 to 22, 2026, at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
According to Emirates News Agency, Belgium's international pavilion will be a key feature at the exhibition, highlighting innovative solutions in areas such as water management, clean energy, environmental sustainability, efficient cooling, and digital transformation. The pavilion will gather four Belgian companies and the Wallonia Export and Investment Agency to demonstrate advancements in resource management efficiency and sustainable, future-ready systems.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA and Founder and Chairman of WETEX, emphasized the importance of the annual participation of Belgian companies at WETEX. He noted that this reflects the strong and growing ties between the UAE and Belgium and highlights significant opportunities for expanding cooperation across various sectors, including water, clean energy, environmental technology, circular economy, and climate technology. Such collaboration supports the shared interests of both countries, fostering economic growth and prosperity.
Rik Van Droogenbroeck, Belgium's Ambassador to the UAE, stated that WETEX serves as a vital meeting point for Belgian and Emirati expertise, facilitating innovation and concrete partnerships. The Belgian pavilion offers a platform for companies to present practical solutions in water, clean energy, environmental technologies, and climate action, engaging with partners in the UAE and the wider region. He expressed anticipation for strengthening these connections and exploring new avenues for sustainable economic cooperation between Belgium and the UAE.
Edith Mayeux, Trade Commissioner at the Wallonia Export and Investment Agency office in the UAE, expressed pride in bringing Walloon innovation to WETEX 2026. The Belgian pavilion will feature companies such as John Cockerill, CESI Power Exchanger, Schréder, and Korium Tech, showcasing expertise in green hydrogen, heat exchangers, smart lighting, and water treatment. These companies share a common ambition of driving sustainable energy and smarter infrastructure for a cleaner future.
