Dubai: Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence (DCAI), an initiative under the Dubai Future Foundation, organised the 'AI Economy for Media Professionals 2026' event in collaboration with Dubai Media Academy, part of Dubai Media Incorporated, as the strategic partner.
According to Emirates News Agency, the event brought together media professionals, journalists, decision-makers, and specialists in media and artificial intelligence. It also introduced the 'AI Economy Media Award,' aimed at recognising exceptional media content on AI's economic impact in Dubai. The event served as a platform to explore the future of media and content creation, focusing on the economic and strategic changes driven by AI technologies and their impact on media institutions, traditional roles, and future skills.
The event underscored DCAI's role as a specialised entity for the Government of Dubai in accelerating AI adoption and maximising its impact on government, businesses, and residents. Saeed Al Falasi, Executive Director of DCAI, emphasised the Centre's commitment to supporting media professionals in covering AI economy topics and equipping them with AI tools for content creation. He highlighted the mission of ensuring that AI benefits the people of Dubai, improving their quality of life and enhancing government services.
Muna Bu Samra, Director of Dubai Media Academy, stressed the importance of strategic partnerships in advancing the media industry and equipping national talents with knowledge and tools to keep pace with digital transformations. She noted that the collaboration with DCAI aligns with Dubai Media Academy's commitment to enhancing cooperation between media and technical domains, contributing to innovative media content that reflects Dubai's future vision.
The event featured sessions led by AI and digital media experts, showcasing DCAI's economic initiatives such as the AI Government Use Cases Bank, the AI Baseline economic study, and the Dubai AI Seal. These discussions highlighted AI tools for media professionals and their role in refining skills and expediting media tasks.
The announcement of the 'AI Economy Media Award' aims to nurture and encourage the creation of world-class content that raises public awareness of AI's economic topics and highlights Dubai's efforts.
