Emirates Publishers Association Sets Strategic Goals for 2026 at Ordinary General Assembly

Sharjah: The Emirates Publishers Association (EPA) convened its Ordinary General Assembly for 2026, attended by EPA Board Members and officials from the Ministry of Community Empowerment, to reaffirm their dedication to advancing corporate governance and enhancing transparency and stakeholder engagement within the UAE's publishing sector.

According to Emirates News Agency, the assembly began with members expressing gratitude to Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Founder and Honorary President of the Association, for her ongoing support and efforts in empowering the publishing industry both locally and globally. The General Assembly reviewed and approved the minutes of the previous meeting and assessed the EPA Board Members' report on activities for the year ending 2025, which outlined key initiatives that empowered publishers and increased their visibility.

Participants discussed activity programmes, the events schedule, and proposed a work plan for 2026, focusing on enhancing services for publishers, expanding professional initiatives, and strengthening the association's role in shaping the UAE's publishing industry's future. The Assembly also approved the budget for 2026 and adopted the final accounts for the fiscal year ending 2025, committing to clear financial and regulatory frameworks.

The Ministry of Community Empowerment announced the appointment of Mr. Sultan Saif Al Mazrouei, founder of Dar Al Saif Publishing, to the EPA Board, following a voting process during the General Assembly. Members reviewed proposals to enhance operational mechanisms and address sector needs, including a proposal for a platform providing data and insights for readers, authors, publishers, and decision-makers.

In closing, the Emirates Publishers Association stated that its 2026 plan reflects the UAE's vision for leadership, innovation, and a sustainable knowledge economy.
