Federal Tax Authority Engages in BRICS Tax Meeting in New Delhi

New Delhi:The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) took part in the BRICS Tax Experts and Tax Heads Meeting 2026 in New Delhi, India. The event gathered leaders and experts from ten BRICS tax administrations to share expertise, address emerging challenges, and enhance cooperation in tax administration.

According to Emirates News Agency, the FTA delegation was led by Abdulaziz Al Mulla, Director General of the Federal Tax Authority. The team also included Saida Kaddoumi Osman, Policy Adviser at the Authority, and Meera Qassim, International Relations Senior Analyst.

The meeting, hosted by the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), Ministry of Finance, Government of India, featured discussions among representatives from several Member States. Key topics included the strengthening of cooperation between BRICS tax administrations, focusing on technology, administration, and human resources.

Abdulaziz Al Mulla highlighted the importance of international cooperation and knowledge exchange in developing modern and efficient tax systems. He noted the value of platforms like the BRICS Tax Experts and Tax Heads Meeting 2026 in allowing participating countries to share experiences, explore emerging trends, and find practical solutions to common challenges.

Al Mulla emphasized the FTA's commitment to international collaboration, learning from diverse experiences, and adopting best practices. He remarked on the UAE's progress in creating a transparent and technology-driven tax system that supports economic growth and enhances customer experience, with international platforms like BRICS playing a crucial role in this development.
