Doha: The leaders of Arab and Islamic countries expressed their solidarity with the State of Qatar, condemning the Israeli aggression that targeted its sovereignty on September 9th. This declaration was made in the final communiqué of the Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit convened to address the Israeli attack on Qatar.
According to Emirates News Agency, the summit took place in Doha with the participation of heads of delegations from various countries. The communiqué reaffirmed the leaders’ unified stance in condemning the attack and their full solidarity with Qatar. It highlighted the principles of the Charters of the League of Arab States and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, recalling the basic principles of the United Nations Charter that prohibit the threat or use of force against any state’s territorial integrity or political independence.
The communiqué emphasized the collective security of Arab and Islamic states and rejected any aggression targeting them. It noted the emergency meeting of the U
nited Nations Security Council, which condemned the Israeli attack as a breach of international peace and security. The leaders stressed that the absence of international accountability has emboldened Israel in its aggressions, undermining international law and threatening regional and international peace.
The statement also expressed the leaders’ absolute support for Qatar’s security, stability, and sovereignty, condemning the attack as a grave violation of international law. It called for urgent international action to hold Israel accountable and to ensure humanitarian assistance reaches the occupied Palestinian territories. The summit concluded with calls for the international community to support Qatar and other mediation efforts in the region to restore peace and security.
