Cairo: H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, highlighted the significant role of the mining sector in promoting economic development and diversifying national income sources.
According to Emirates News Agency, H.H. Sheikh Hamad reiterated the UAE leadership’s vision of establishing a robust, sustainable economy. He noted that the Emirate of Fujairah is crucial to the mining and quarrying industry due to its rich geological landscape, which makes it an attractive investment destination.
This statement was made as H.H. Sheikh Hamad met with Mohamed Ebrahim Hassan Al Mansoori, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure for Infrastructure and Transportation Affairs; Adel Saqr Al-Sager, Director-General of the Arab Industrial Development and Mining Organisation (AIDMO), and other delegates attending the 10th Fujairah International Mining Conference at Al Rumaila Palace.
The emirate is hosting the event, which is organized by the Fujairah Natural Resources Corporation (FNRC) in cooperation with the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure and AIDMO.
H.H. Sheikh Hamad welcomed the conference attendees, including ministers, experts, decision-makers, and investors from around the globe. He praised their efforts in sharing expertise and enhancing international cooperation to advance and sustain the mining sector.
He emphasized that the conference provides a critical platform for discussing the challenges faced by the mining and metals industries. It also offers an opportunity to exchange knowledge and explore promising opportunities on both regional and global scales.
