M42 and American University in Dubai Collaborate to Enhance Healthcare Education

Dubai:M42 and the American University in Dubai (AUD) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at expanding practical learning opportunities for biology and pre-medical students. This partnership is designed to enhance knowledge exchange and support the development of future healthcare talent in the UAE.

According to Wam, the MoU will allow selected AUD students to engage in research, training, and clinical observation at various M42 facilities, subject to internal approvals and availability. The collaboration will cover areas such as neuroscience, cancer, metabolic and cardiovascular health, digital health, and genomics, providing students with exposure to diverse disciplines and career pathways.

Both organizations plan to facilitate knowledge and expertise exchange through joint events, workshops, and training programs. The educational and research activities may include seminars and panel discussions focusing on applied life sciences and healthcare innovation. Additionally, M42 and AUD will explore initiatives to support students, such as scholarships aligned with UAE national workforce development and Emiratisation priorities.

Andreas Fagher, Group Chief Human Capital Officer at M42, emphasized the importance of the collaboration, stating that it aims to provide students with meaningful exposure to healthcare environments where care and innovation intersect. Dr. Kyle Long, President of AUD, highlighted the benefits for students in applying their knowledge through research and hands-on learning, which will aid them in making informed career decisions and contributing to society.
