Dubai: Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment has launched the 'Housing Pioneers' initiative with the aim of developing leaders who possess vision, resilience, and the ability to drive change, while qualifying and empowering second-line leaders and preparing a new generation of leaders capable of leading institutional transformation and advancing sustainable innovation in the housing sector.
According to Emirates News Agency, Mohammed Hassan Al Shehhi, Chief Executive Officer of Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment, stated that the initiative is a training programme designed to qualify and empower second-line leaders, and to prepare a new generation of leaders capable of leading institutional transformation and creating sustainable innovation in the housing sector. He emphasized that the initiative embodies the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in investing in people as the true wealth and the main driver of sustainable development, and in preparing national leaders capable of anticipating the future, creating opportunities, and transforming challenges into achievements.
He added that the programme brought together 15 second-line leaders who underwent an exceptional experience aimed at enhancing the future readiness of departments, raising the level of institutional resilience, and consolidating a culture of innovation and continuous development. This aligns with the Government of Dubai's directions to build proactive institutions capable of keeping pace with change. The initiative supports the objectives of the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan and the Dubai Social Agenda, focusing on building a sustainable society and enhancing quality of life through flexible and innovative government institutions led by national competencies prepared for the future.
The programme covered 162 training and practical hours for each participant, totaling 2,430 hours of learning, application, projects, and interactive activities. It focused on developing leadership, administrative, technical, and personal skills through a balanced combination of theoretical knowledge, practical application, and real-life challenges.
One distinctive aspect of the programme is its direct connection to institutional outcomes, resulting in three strategic innovative projects. The first project, 'Smart Hybrid Construction', aims to accelerate completion, improve implementation quality, and leverage modern construction technologies. The second project, 'Smart Maintenance of Houses', focuses on shifting from traditional maintenance to proactive maintenance using data and smart technologies. The third project employs drone technologies to monitor projects, audit productivity, enhance oversight efficiency, and improve the quality of decision-making.
The initiative's impact extended beyond participants, strengthening a culture of collaboration and innovation across departments, launching over twenty knowledge-based and development-oriented activities. Among these, the 'Coffee and Book' initiative involved studying 'Life Taught Me' by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, promoting continuous learning and a positive work environment.
The programme achieved a satisfaction rate of 99.7% among participants, received international accreditation, and participants obtained nine specialized local and international certificates. Nearly 200 employees within the teams led by participants benefited, enhancing institutional performance and future readiness. During the graduation ceremony, participants were honored, awarded the 'Leadership Medal', and recognized for best innovative projects and leadership excellence.
One participant's appointment as Assistant Director General highlights the programme's success in empowering leadership talents, preparing them for greater responsibilities, and contributing to institutional decision-making. The initiative's true value lies in transforming leadership thinking, strengthening initiative culture, and building a second line of leaders ensuring sustainability of institutional performance and continuity of development and innovation.
The 'Housing Pioneers' initiative represents a pioneering national model in building future leaders, embodying a vision that institutional change begins with developing people, and that innovation is a sustainable work culture. As institutions embrace digital transformation and sustainability, the need for leaders who create opportunities and turn challenges into achievements remains essential, a goal the 'Housing Pioneers' initiative successfully accomplishes.
