Abu dhabi: The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoHESR) has announced the launch of the updated version of its registration and admissions platform for higher education institutions, known as Edu Hub.
According to Emirates News Agency, the platform, enhanced with artificial intelligence (AI), aims to support students by simplifying the exploration of higher education institutions (HEIs) and programmes, submission of applications, and future academic planning. Developed in partnership with the Ministry of Education, the platform integrates data and processes across both school and higher education, aiding students in making informed decisions about their academic futures.
The updated platform features a new user interface focusing on simplicity and clarity, with dedicated dashboards for students, schools, and higher education institutions. It aligns with international best practices to deliver a seamless digital experience, supporting the Ministry's mission to leverage data and AI for enhancing government service efficiency, driving zero government bureaucracy efforts, and strengthening the flexibility and innovation of the UAE's higher education system.
Amani AlBannay, Assistant Undersecretary for the Support Services Sector and Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Higher Education Operations Sector at MoHESR, highlighted that the platform's updates are crucial for improving the efficiency and speed of application and registration procedures at higher education institutions. The updates facilitate easy modification and updating of applications, streamlining the registration process.
Edu Hub enables Grade 10 and Grade 11 students to explore HEIs and academic programmes without submitting applications, while Grade 12 students and above can complete the full application process digitally. The integration with the Ministry of Education and other government systems, including UAE PASS, allows for seamless data exchange and verification, easing the registration process for students.
The platform includes dedicated dashboards for various stakeholders and currently has 74 public and private HEIs registered, including the UAE's three federal universities. Efforts are ongoing to expand access to more institutions, with over 40,000 students expected to benefit in the current phase.
Alongside the platform's launch, MoHESR introduced a support system for HEIs, including business and technical support teams, communication channels, and regular coordination meetings to address challenges and feedback, ensuring a smooth rollout and improved student experience.
Edu Hub is a crucial part of MoHESR's efforts to streamline procedures, enhance the student experience, and improve operational efficiency, promoting academic excellence in the UAE. The service is accessible through the Ministry's website and mobile application via the Services Portal.
