Abu dhabi: Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, inaugurated the Annual Conference of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India - Dubai Chapter, reinforcing the strong ties between the UAE and India. The event, themed "The Resilience Comeback Story," saw participation from over 700 ICAI members and their families, coinciding with the 78th Chartered Accountants' Day.
According to Emirates News Agency, Sheikh Nahyan emphasized the importance of resilience in his address, describing it as a necessary quality for managing risks, handling unexpected situations, and making informed decisions under pressure. He highlighted the UAE's demonstration of these values, especially during recent regional conflicts, crediting wise leadership and strong institutions for the country's resilience.
Sheikh Nahyan praised the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the transformative vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. He also discussed the crucial role of chartered accountants in enhancing the UAE-India economic partnership, noting that while technology evolves, professional integrity remains vital.
Dr. Deepak Mittal, India's Ambassador to the UAE, pointed out India's economic growth and the robust UAE-India partnership, with bilateral trade surpassing US$100 billion annually. Arun Singh, a member of India's Parliament, highlighted investment opportunities and praised chartered accountants for supporting the UAE's resilience.
Rishi Chawla, Chairman of ICAI Dubai Chapter, likened chartered accountants to doctors in diagnosing financial health, while Vice Chairman Amit Khaitan emphasized trust as the foundation of business success. The conference also featured Indian actress Mahima Chaudhry, who shared her personal journey of resilience, urging Indian youth to embrace innovation and entrepreneurship.
