SEC Approves Draft Organisational Structure for Sharjah Economic Development Department

Abu dhabi: The Sharjah Executive Council (SEC) convened a meeting on Tuesday under the leadership of H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council. The meeting, held at the Sharjah Ruler's Office, was also attended by H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Vice Chairman of the SEC.

According to Emirates News Agency, the council addressed a variety of governmental issues aimed at advancing the emirate's public sector. These discussions included monitoring the performance of government departments and authorities, as well as reviewing the progress of development projects across Sharjah's cities and regions. In alignment with directives from His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the council approved a proposed general organisational structure for the Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD). This move is part of Sharjah's ongoing efforts to enhance the government system, sustain economic growth, and reinforce the role of Emirati talent.

Furthermore, the council directed its General Secretariat to present the proposed organisational structure to His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah. The meeting also reviewed the Sharjah Fish Resources Authority's 2025 report, which detailed the authority's key achievements in regulating fishing licenses, maintaining records, improving compliance, and supporting fish stock sustainability through various projects and initiatives.

Additionally, the council examined a report on the Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority's efforts to enhance public transport services. This includes improving accessibility, expanding the transport network, and implementing smart solutions to reduce travel times, all in line with the emirate's population and urban growth.
