Sharjah: Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), through its Sharjah Training and Development Centre (STDC), has partnered with Spain’s University of Navarra to introduce internationally recognized training and academic programmes. These initiatives focus on areas such as executive leadership, business administration, institutional innovation, digital transformation, governance, finance, and technical skills.
According to Emirates News Agency, the collaboration highlights SCCI’s dedication to advancing STDC’s mission to offer advanced training programmes aimed at enhancing employee efficiency and leadership development across both public and private sectors. The meeting, held at SCCI’s headquarters, was attended by key figures including Maryam Saif Al Shamsi, Assistant Director-General of Support Services Sector at Sharjah Chamber, and Jaime Garca del Barrio, Vice President of University of Navarra, among other officials.
During the meeting, the STDC outlined its successful initiatives such as the Strategic Business Leadership Programme, which has seen around 38 graduates from both public and private sectors in its initial editions. Discussions also encompassed the framework for launching a joint international training programme targeting professionals from various sectors. This programme aspires to adhere to global standards in training and qualification, providing efficient solutions to future challenges.
Maryam Saif Al Shamsi emphasized that the partnership with University of Navarra significantly contributes to Sharjah Chamber’s strategic goals of human resource empowerment and efficiency enhancement, aligning with international best practices. She stated that the collaboration aims to bolster Sharjah’s status as a regional training and leadership development hub through access to innovative curricula and educational methodologies.
Amal Abdullah Al Ali, Director of STDC, highlighted that the meeting set the stage for innovative training pathways catering to the evolving needs of both institutions and individuals in the job market. This is expected to fortify the capabilities of national professionals and prepare them for future challenges. She added that the collaboration underscores STDC’s strategic commitment to expanding global partnerships and ensuring the delivery of impactful programmes that integrate innovation in workplaces.
The initiative builds upon a strategic agreement established in May between STDC and University of Navarra, aimed at creating joint training and academic programmes, facilitating expert exchange visits, and pursuing international accreditation for the Centre’s offerings. This partnership seeks to enhance programme quality, institutional credibility, and align skill development efforts with global standards in leadership and executive education.
