Sharjah Ruler Chairs University of Al Dhaid Board of Trustees Meeting


Sharjah: H.H. Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member, Ruler of Sharjah, and President of the University of Al Dhaid, presided over a significant meeting of the Board of Trustees at the university’s headquarters. H.H. Sheikh Dr Sultan expressed his satisfaction with the university’s achievements, highlighting the benefits its educational programmes offer, particularly in veterinary and agricultural fields, which are vital to societal development. He expressed his hope for the students to graduate and make positive contributions globally.



According to Emirates News Agency, H.H. Sheikh Dr Sultan addressed the historic shortage of veterinary professionals in the Gulf region, emphasizing the necessity of caring for livestock such as cows, cattle, and poultry. He underscored the importance of supporting students throughout their education to maximize societal benefits from their expertise.



The Ruler of Sharjah praised the university’s partnerships with academic institutions like the University of Liverpool and the University of Exeter, which have significantly enhanced educational offerings in veterinary medicine and agriculture. These collaborations are designed to motivate community engagement in these crucial areas of study.



During the meeting, the Board of Trustees deliberated on various strategic, administrative, and educational topics, ultimately approving the university’s strategic plan. Dr Aisha Ahmed Bushlaibi, Chancellor of the University of Al Dhaid, presented an executive summary of the year’s activities and achievements, including updates on teaching and research advancements.



The board also ratified reports from several key committees, reflecting on their accomplishments in financial, academic, and compliance areas. The progress of the university’s teaching, research, and administrative operations was also reviewed, ensuring alignment with the strategic goals.
