Sultan bin Ahmed Celebrates UKF’s Second Graduation Ceremony

Khorfakkan: Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member, Ruler of Sharjah, and University of Khorfakkan (UKF) President, H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, attended the second graduation ceremony of UKF. The event celebrated 137 graduates at the university's theatre in Khorfakkan.

According to Emirates News Agency, H.H. Deputy Ruler of Sharjah highlighted Khorfakkan's historical resilience, citing its resistance against invaders in 1507. He linked this legacy to the city's current emphasis on knowledge and education, which aligns with the vision of the Ruler of Sharjah. The university's establishment as a comprehensive academic institution is part of this vision, offering the region's youth substantial educational opportunities.

H.H. Deputy Ruler underscored UKF's progress through international collaborations and accreditations. The university's involvement in the French Neptune Initiative and partnerships with entities like Air Arabia and Sharjah Media City (Shams) provide students with valuable experiences. He praised the graduates and their families, encouraging them to contribute to society and uphold the university's values.

The ceremony began with the UAE national anthem and a Quranic recitation. Dr Ali Hilal Al Naqbi, UKF Chancellor, emphasized the university's rapid development and international academic partnerships. UKF's affiliations with global organizations and the Sharjah Marine Sciences Research Centre enhance its academic profile. The university actively participates in international marine science forums, supporting Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Graduate Jassim Mohammed Khalfan Al Naqbi expressed pride in representing his peers, acknowledging the university's role in shaping their futures. He thanked His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah and credited the university's administration and staff for their support. Al Naqbi emphasized that graduation marks the start of a new journey of service and responsibility.

H.H. Deputy Ruler of Sharjah awarded degrees to the graduates, congratulating them on their achievements. The graduates included 119 from the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, eight from the College of Law, and 10 from the College of Business Administration.

The ceremony was attended by notable figures, including Sheikh Fahim bin Sultan Al Qasimi and Dr Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak, along with senior officials, university trustees, and graduates' families.
