Sultan bin Ahmed Chairs Judicial Council Meeting to Enhance Judicial Efficiency

Abu dhabi: H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Judicial Council, chaired the Judicial Council's meeting on Wednesday morning at the Sharjah Academy of Astronomy, Space Sciences and Technology. The Chairman expressed his appreciation to all council members for their efforts in developing the judicial system and enhancing institutional efficiency to reinforce the rule of law and uphold justice.

According to Emirates News Agency, the Council reviewed various agenda topics focused on monitoring judicial performance and improving procedural efficiency. A key decision was the establishment of a specialised Inheritance Court to handle inheritance-related cases through specialist judges. This move aligns with the Council's vision to develop the judicial system and strengthen specialised courts, facilitating quicker dispute resolution and unified judicial interpretations.

The Council also approved the creation of a specialised Enforcement Court to enforce judicial judgments and decisions efficiently. The court aims to ensure timely delivery of rights, accurate enforcement of judgments, and improved coordination with relevant authorities, thereby enhancing the judicial enforcement system.

A decision was issued to regulate precautionary and electronic measures in enforcement procedures, modernising judicial enforcement mechanisms through advanced technologies. Enforcement judges are now authorised to use various electronic measures, such as prior notification and electronic tracking, as alternatives to imprisonment, promoting effective enforcement and compliance with judicial rulings.

Furthermore, the Council regulated the judicial duty roster across the Emirate of Sharjah's courts, ensuring a duty judge is available 24/7 to address urgent enforcement requests. This measure aims to improve the continuity of judicial operations and response times for urgent applications, ensuring efficient judicial services throughout the day.

On the sidelines of the meeting, His Highness visited the planetarium at the Sharjah Academy of Astronomy, Space Sciences and Technology. The presentation took viewers on a journey under Sharjah's desert skies, highlighting stars significant to the region's heritage. It included an interactive explanation of celestial laws, such as Newton's law of gravity and Kepler's laws of planetary motion, and concluded with exploring space-time concepts according to Einstein's theory, combining scientific content with visual storytelling to promote scientific culture and interest in space science.
