Sultan bin Ahmed Leads Discussion on Enhancing Media Collaboration in Sharjah


Sharjah: H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council, convened a meeting at Buhais Geology Park to discuss strategies for improving teamwork within media entities. At the outset, H.H. Sheikh Sultan expressed gratitude to the organizations under the Sharjah Media Council for their contributions to advancing media quality in the emirate.



According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting addressed several topics aimed at enhancing the media landscape in Sharjah. Key discussions included plans to foster collaboration among media organizations to integrate efforts, share knowledge, and enhance Sharjah’s communication identity both locally and globally. The council also reviewed the initial draft of the Sharjah Media Policy, focusing on transparency, trustworthiness, and the promotion of Sharjah’s cultural values.



The Sharjah Broadcasting Authority presented a report on new programming and channel performance, outlining future plans to enhance viewer and listener experiences. The Sharjah Government Media Bureau shared insights from a study on government communication, highlighting upcoming events and the development of a “Smart Media Platform” for improved public communication.



Additionally, the meeting highlighted Sharjah Media City’s efforts to attract media companies, aiming to establish Sharjah as a regional media hub. The council reviewed reports from various departments, noting a 60 percent increase in filming permits and achievements in Emiratisation, financial management, technology support, and public services.



Following the meeting, H.H. Sheikh Sultan visited Buhais Geology Park, exploring exhibits on the geological and human history of the region. The park showcases the formation of the Hajar Mountains and evidence of early human habitation, offering educational activities for all ages.



The meeting was attended by key figures including Tariq Saeed Allay, Director-General of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau, and other prominent leaders from Sharjah’s media landscape.
