Thani Al Zeyoudi Assumes Chairmanship of Agentic AI Firm AIREV

Abu dhabi: AIREV has announced that Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Foreign Trade, has assumed the chairmanship of the Board of Directors of the UAE-based AI company behind OnDemand, a sovereign-grade agentic AI operating system engineered in the UAE and deployed in markets worldwide. The move aligns one of the country's flagship technology companies with the national trade agenda, as the UAE works to expand its export base into high-value digital and AI services.

According to Emirates News Agency, Al Zeyoudi's new position reflects the growing role of advanced technologies and digital services within the UAE's foreign trade strategy, following a record year for the country's non-oil trade performance. Al Zeyoudi noted the growth of AI in the UAE through companies such as AIREV as the next stage of the country's export ambitions. He emphasized the UAE's dynamic trading economy and the goal to export not only goods and services but also homegrown technology and intellectual property. Al Zeyoudi expressed his eagerness to support AIREV's scaling efforts, contributing to the national goal of increasing non-oil exports and establishing the UAE as a hub for advanced industries.

AIREV entered the UAE market through the NextGen FDI initiative and was anchored by Core42, a G42 company, in February 2024. Over two and a half years, it has grown into a production-grade agentic operating system valued at approximately US$200 million. Its flagship platform, OnDemand, is a no- and low-code operating system for building, deploying, and managing autonomous AI agents, designed to provide governments and enterprises control over their data and infrastructure. OnDemand serves over four million AI-first users worldwide, offering more than 300 specialized agents and tools in over 50 languages.

In the past year, AIREV has formed strategic partnerships within the global AI and semiconductor ecosystem, including a partnership with Intel to optimize OnDemand for Intel processors and with US chip company Tenstorrent to co-develop a high-performance agentic AI stack. AIREV has also registered OnDemand for the North American market and built a distribution pipeline reaching the US technology economy. The company's products surpassed one trillion tokens in 2025, with a sixfold increase in the second quarter of 2026.

AIREV's capital base supports its export strategy, attracting investment from VentureWave Capital and Titian Capital, and progressing a Series A2 funding round. Redington has been appointed as AIREV's distributor for 2026 to 2027, with plans to expand into Europe.

Muhammad Khalid, Founder and CEO of AIREV, emphasized the significance of Al Zeyoudi's chairmanship for the company's global growth. He highlighted the alignment of the UAE's foreign trade strategy with AIREV's mission to export developed technology worldwide. AIREV's growth represents a broader shift in the UAE's trade strategy, aimed at transitioning from an importer to an exporter of advanced technology. This shift is part of the 'We the UAE 2031' vision, focusing on converting domestic software engineering into non-oil export value.
