UAE Ambassador to Philippines Recognised as ‘Ambassador of Goodwill for Peace’

Manila: Mohamed Obaid Salem Al Zaabi, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of the Philippines, was recognised as an ‘Ambassador of Goodwill for Peace’ by the United Nations Association of the Philippines (UNAP) during the celebrations for the 80th anniversary of the UN and the Outstanding Humanitarian Awards night, held on 24th October 2025.

According to Emirates News Agency, the distinguished honor acknowledges Al Zaabi’s contributions in strengthening UAE-Philippines relations and his support for humanitarian and development initiatives. These efforts align with the vision of the late founding father Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who was pivotal in advancing humanitarian work. This vision is continued by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, positioning humanitarian work as a key element of the UAE’s foreign policy. The values of tolerance and co-existence are emphasized, underscoring the UAE’s commitment to promoting peace and shared prosperity.

The UAE has consistently undertaken initiatives and provided aid to the Philippines in recent years. This includes dispatching planes with aid, medical, and humanitarian supplies to support those affected by disasters and crises.

These actions demonstrate the UAE’s unwavering dedication to assisting people in times of need.
