UAE and Bahrain Ministers Discuss Strengthening Collaboration in Transport and Infrastructure

Abu Dhabi: Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, received Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Bahrain's Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance collaboration between the UAE and Bahrain in the fields of transport and infrastructure. The visit aligns with the two nations' commitment to fostering regional socio-economic development.

According to Emirates News Agency, the discussions centered on implementing a joint Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in transport. This MoU focuses on exchanging technical and administrative expertise, cooperating in national workforce training and capacity building, and advancing joint projects in sustainable mobility, autonomous driving, and digital transformation.

Additionally, the ministers explored opportunities to develop infrastructure for ports and logistics services. The goal is to enhance the competitiveness of ports and align with global trends in maritime transport. Al Mazrouei emphasized the importance of building partnerships based on knowledge and expertise exchange to achieve the strategic goals of the region, highlighting that the meeting served as a platform for establishing advanced collaborations in transport, legislation, and infrastructure.

Al Mazrouei expressed that the strong relations between the UAE and Bahrain serve as a crucial foundation for strategic partnerships, aiming to meet the developmental aspirations of both countries' leaderships. Dr. Al Khalifa noted Bahrain's strategy to create an integrated and sustainable transport ecosystem, aligning with Bahrain's Vision 2030, and expressed interest in leveraging the UAE's successful experiences.

The meeting was attended by Eng. Hassan Mohammed Al Mansouri, Undersecretary of Infrastructure and Transport Affairs at the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, and Hessa Al Malek, Advisor to the Minister for Maritime Transport Affairs at the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure.
