Cairo: Dr. Omar Habtoor Al Darei, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat, engaged in discussions with Dr. Nazir Mohammed Ayyad, Grand Mufti of the Arab Republic of Egypt, to explore cooperation in the field of fatwa issuance between the UAE and Egypt. The meeting, which occurred during the conference 'The Making of a Competent Mufti in the Digital Age' in Cairo, focused on enhancing collaboration, integration, and exchange of expertise.
According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting was also attended by Dr. Khalifa Mubarak Al Dhaheri, Chancellor of Mohamed bin Zayed University for Humanities, Dr. Sabaa Salem Al Kaabi, Acting Secretary-General of the Emirates Fatwa Council, and other officials from both countries' religious sectors. The discussions aimed to leverage digital technologies and artificial intelligence to provide accurate fatwas, addressing contemporary challenges and complex societal issues.
