UAE and Indonesia Explore Parliamentary Cooperation to Promote Tolerance

Jakarta: Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Defence, Interior, and Foreign Affairs Committee at the Federal National Council (FNC) of the UAE, recently met with Marwan Dasopang, Chairman of Commission VIII - Religious Affairs, Social Affairs, Women's Empowerment and Child Protection, and Disaster Management at the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI). The discussions focused on enhancing parliamentary collaboration to advance tolerance and moderation. According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting in Jakarta was attended by Abdulla Salem AlDhaheri, UAE Ambassador to Indonesia. It underscored the significant role that parliaments and their specialized committees play in promoting coexistence and dialogue among cultures and religions to foster regional and international peace and security. Dr. Al Nuaimi emphasized the shared approach of the UAE and Indonesia, which is rooted in moderation and respect for diversity. He highlighted the vital role of parliamentary institutions in promoting human f raternity, dialogue, and mutual understanding, reinforcing moderate discourse that advances tolerance and coexistence. Marwan Dasopang expressed the Indonesian House of Representatives' commitment to strengthening cooperation with the FNC. He highlighted the importance of collaboration between relevant parliamentary committees to support the shared interests of both countries and their citizens.
