Abu dhabi: The United Arab Emirates and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a Joint Consular Committee. The agreement was formalized at a ceremony held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters in Abu Dhabi.
According to Emirates News Agency, the MoU was signed by Faisal Eissa Lutfi, the Assistant Undersecretary for Consular Affairs at the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Ambassador Majed Thalji Al Qatarneh, the Jordanian Ambassador to the UAE. This agreement underscores the strong ties and partnership between the two nations, focusing on enhancing bilateral cooperation, especially in consular matters.
The MoU aims to boost consular cooperation, improve consular services, and further develop consular operations for the benefit of citizens from both nations. This initiative is part of a broader commitment by both countries to strengthen their relationship in various domains.
The event was attended by officials from the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Omar Al Atoum, the Consul-General of Jordan in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.
