Astana: The Federal Supreme Court of the United Arab Emirates participated in the International Forum on Constitutional Justice titled ‘Peace and the Future Through Law,’ organized in Astana. The event was held to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
According to Emirates News Agency, the UAE delegation was led by Counsellor Mohammed Albadi Al-Dhaheri, President of the Federal Supreme Court, and included Judge Shihab Abdulrahman Al Hammadi and Mohammed Saeed Nasser Al Shibli, Director of Support Services at the Court. At the end of the forum, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan welcomed the heads of the participating delegations.
In his speech, the President of the Federal Supreme Court highlighted the forum’s role as a platform for sharing expertise and perspectives on employing law to build a peaceful, just, and cooperative international future. He emphasized the pivotal role of constitutional courts in upholding constitutional justice by overseeing the constitutionality of laws and regulations. He noted the UAE Federal Supreme Court’s significant contributions to establishing and advancing constitutional justice. He also mentioned the UAE’s success in implementing an electronic litigation system that has facilitated access to constitutional justice and streamlined judicial procedures.
On the sidelines of the forum, Al-Dhaheri engaged with senior judicial leaders in Kazakhstan to explore ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and exchange views on judicial and legislative developments.
