Dubai: In line with the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE Government has conducted a specialised workshop on the development and implementation of Agentic AI across government sectors. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to transform 50 percent of government services and operations into Agentic AI models within the next two years, as announced by the UAE leadership. The workshop saw participation from over 300 individuals representing 50 federal entities.
According to Emirates News Agency, the event, organised by the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs in Dubai, aimed to initiate the implementation tracks of the new government system project. The focus was on activating government services, operations, and institutional support, mapping out services, projects, and operations across federal entities, and monitoring their implementation over a 90-day period.
Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, the Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of the Agentic AI Project Executive Committee, emphasized the workshop's alignment with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The aim is to accelerate the adoption of Agentic AI applications across all areas of government work, thereby enhancing performance and service quality. Al Gergawi highlighted the potential of Artificial Intelligence to transform government work by supporting employees, accelerating task completion, boosting productivity, and enhancing data-driven decision-making.
Maryam bint Ahmed Al Hammadi, Minister of State and Secretary General of the Cabinet, leads the Operations and Institutional Support Track of the Agentic AI Project. She stated that the UAE Government is focused on removing barriers and transforming governmental operations. Initial efforts involve mapping operations across federal entities, identifying priority operations for AI conversion, and developing a comprehensive implementation plan for the Agentic AI project at the federal level.
The workshop sessions identified 10 key areas with contributions from over 140 officials and specialists. These areas include human resources, procurement and contracts, financial and administrative affairs, and digital transformation, among others. Mohamed Rashid bin Taliah, Assistant Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Government Knowledge Exchange and Head of the Services Track, presented a government work model designed to prioritize services and operations for Agentic AI implementation, ensuring significant impact on individuals and businesses.
Participants discussed criteria for selecting priority operations for transformation, such as operation volume, transaction numbers, and beneficiary nature. Each government entity is required to select a service or operation for AI implementation, with the rollout planned over three phases: exploration, design, and implementation planning. Progress will be regularly monitored to ensure targets are met within the set timeframe.
