UAE President Meets Syrian Counterpart to Discuss Cooperation and Regional Stability

Abu dhabi: UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan today welcomed His Excellency Ahmad Al-Sharaa, President of the Syrian Arab Republic, who is on a working visit to the UAE. The leaders met at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi, where they discussed the strong ties between their nations and explored opportunities for enhanced cooperation, particularly in development and economic sectors, aiming to serve mutual interests and support the progress of their peoples.

According to Emirates News Agency, the discussions also covered regional issues of shared concern. Both leaders emphasized the importance of reinforcing peace, security, and stability in the Middle East, which would benefit all nations in the region and contribute to the development and prosperity of their citizens. His Highness reiterated the UAE's steadfast support for the Syrian people and efforts to achieve their developmental aspirations and a stable future.

President Al-Sharaa expressed his gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for the UAE's ongoing support for Syria and its people. He commended the UAE's commitment to strengthening the fraternal ties between the two countries and wished the UAE continued progress and prosperity.

The meeting was attended by several high-ranking UAE officials, including members of the UAE's royal family and senior governmental figures. On the Syrian side, the delegation accompanying President Al-Sharaa included Asaad Al-Shaibani, the Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, as well as other senior officials. President Al-Sharaa was received earlier in the day at Al Bateen Airport by Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, along with other senior officials.
