UAE Pro League Announces Nominees for 2024-2025 Season Awards

Abu dhabi: The UAE Pro League has unveiled the nominees for its 2024-2025 season awards, covering categories such as The Golden Ball for Best Player, The Golden Boy for Best U23 Player, The Golden Glove for Best Goalkeeper, The Leader for Best Coach, Goal of the Year, and The Fans' Player of the Year.

According to Emirates News Agency, the UAE Pro League Awards ceremony is set to be held at Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental. The awards are split into three groups: the vote-based category, the statistics-based category, and the criteria-based award.

For The Golden Ball for Best Player, notable nominees include Al Ain's Laba Kodjo and Alejandro Romero, Shabab Al Ahli's Sardar Azmoun and Federico Cartabia, alongside others like Sharjah's Firas Ben Arbi and Caio Lucas, Kalba's Mehdi Ghayedi, Al Wahda's Omar Khribin, Al Wasl's Fabio Lima, and Al Jazira's Nabil Fekir.

The Golden Boy Award for Best U23 Player features emerging talents such as Shabab Al Ahli's Guilherme Da Silva and Renan Vicror Da Silva, Al Nasr's Marouan Azarkan, Al Ain's Mat­as Palacios, Al Wahda's Brahima Diarra and Rºben Canedo, among others.

The Golden Glove Award for Best Goalkeeper sees competition from Sultan Al Mantheri (Kalba), Hamad Al Meqbaali (Shabab Al Ahli), Adel Al Hosani (Sharjah), Ali Khaseif (Al Jazira), and Khalid Eissa (Al Ain).

Nominees for the Goal of the Year Award include players from Shabab Al Ahli like Federico Cartabia and Sardar Azmoun, Al Ain's Kodjo Laba and Alejandro Romero, Sharjah's Firas Ben Arbi and Caio Lucas, and others from various clubs.

Voting for these awards will open at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 26, and will conclude at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 31. Voting will be available through the official UAE Pro League website and mobile application, with input from team captains, coaches, media representatives, and fans.

The statistics-based awards feature the Golden Shoe for the league's top scorer, won by Laba Kodjo with 20 goals, and other accolades like the Golden Shoe for the ADIB Cup's top scorer, clinched by Al Jazira's Ramon Mierez. Additionally, the Silver Shoe for the League U23 top scorer was awarded to Al Wahda's Mansoor Almenhali.

Lastly, the UAE Pro League will present the Professional Excellence in Club Licensing award to the club that best meets the defined standards outlined by the league.
