UAE Stresses Dialogue and Diplomacy in US-Iran Agreement

Abu dhabi: In light of the recent agreement on a Memorandum of Understanding between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran, the United Arab Emirates has underscored the significance of prioritizing dialogue and diplomacy, alongside adherence to international law, to reinforce regional security and stability.

According to Emirates News Agency, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized the importance of full compliance with the agreement's provisions, advocating for an immediate and comprehensive cessation of hostilities in the region. The Ministry called for respect for state sovereignty and the principles of good neighborliness, along with strict adherence to international law. It highlighted the necessity of protecting maritime routes and ensuring the freedom of international navigation, particularly the uninterrupted flow of traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, as essential to advancing security, stability, and economic prosperity both regionally and globally.

The Ministry commended the diplomatic efforts led by US President Donald Trump that facilitated reaching this agreement, and acknowledged the contributions of relevant countries and parties in supporting these efforts. It also stressed the importance of continuing negotiations to build on the progress made and achieve sustainable outcomes.

Furthermore, the UAE Ministry reiterated its support for all efforts aimed at enhancing security and stability, while promoting dialogue and diplomacy as the preferred means of resolving regional and international crises. This approach is seen as serving the interests of the region's peoples and enhancing opportunities for development and prosperity.
