Venezuela Earthquake Death Toll Rises to 1,719

Caracas: The death toll from the two earthquakes that struck Venezuela has increased to at least 1,719, as announced by Jorge Rodr­guez, President of the National Assembly. The earthquakes have also resulted in injuries to 5,034 people, with thousands still missing.

According to Emirates News Agency, United Nations estimates indicate that approximately 50,000 people are unaccounted for. Search operations are ongoing in hopes of finding possible survivors amidst the devastation.
