Wall Collapse in Sichuan Province Results in Five Fatalities and 17 Injuries

Sichuan: Five people were killed and 17 others injured following a wall collapse in southwest China's Sichuan Province, local authorities said Wednesday.

According to Emirates News Agency, the accident occurred around 5:30 pm (Beijing Time) on Tuesday in a village in Changning County, as reported by the local emergency management bureau. The investigation revealed that the incident took place during a courtyard banquet held by a villager. The collapse was triggered by excessive water accumulation on a temporary rain shelter, which caused the wall anchoring the shelter to give way.

Three individuals lost their lives at the scene, while two others succumbed to their injuries after medical treatment efforts were unsuccessful. The remaining 17 injured individuals are currently undergoing medical treatment.
