Abu Dhabi: Dr Abdullah Humaid Al Jarwan, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy (DoE), emphasized the importance of community engagement and collaboration between public and private sectors in achieving sustainable environmental goals. He highlighted the development of an integrated energy system as a priority, aimed at optimizing natural resource use and promoting environmental protection through progressive regulatory policies and clean technology adoption.
According to Emirates News Agency, Dr Al Jarwan stated the DoE's commitment to the UAE's Net Zero by 2050 Strategy. This involves a clear roadmap to accelerate the transition to clean energy and reduce carbon emissions, with measures such as stringent greenhouse gas emissions standards and fostering innovation across energy domains, including artificial intelligence. The approach aims to enhance energy sector resilience and balance economic growth with environmental preservation.
Dr Al Jarwan also noted that the Year of Community 2025 is a crucial opportunity to instil environmental sustainability values. The DoE believes in the significance of community engagement and cross-sector collaboration to achieve long-term environmental objectives. Through awareness initiatives, partnerships, and promoting sustainable behaviours, an environmental culture is being fostered to ensure a safe and clean future for future generations.
