Dubai:Entries are now open for the World Triathlon Women's Cup Dubai, set to take place at Al Mamzar Beach Park on Sunday, December 6. The event welcomes women of all abilities, from first-time triathletes to elite international athletes.

According to Wam, this is only the second World Triathlon Women's Cup held globally and the only event exclusively for women. It aims to unite elite athletes and amateur participants at the same venue on the same day. The event is organized by the Dubai Sports Council in partnership with World Triathlon and the UAE Triathlon Federation, highlighting women's strength, determination, and unity while positioning Dubai as a premier international destination for world-class sports.

Saeed Hareb, Secretary General of Dubai Sports Council, emphasized the broader impact of the event, stating it aims to serve as a lasting platform for women's sport, inspiring participation and giving visibility to women athletes as role models. He encouraged women of all experience levels to join the races, which promise to build confidence and ambition.

The competition includes a Super Sprint with a 400m swim, 10km bike, and 2.5km run, designed for beginners. More experienced participants can opt for the Sprint, comprising a 750m swim, 20km bike, and 5km run. Open to women aged 18 and over, participants can compete individually or as part of a relay team, allowing for flexible participation.

Debbie Alexander, Vice President of World Triathlon, expressed delight in returning to Dubai for the event. She highlighted the unique opportunity for novice triathletes to compete alongside elites, showcasing the inspiring nature of the sport.

A special recognition will be given to Emirati women, with a separate competition to award the top three Emirati finishers in both individual and team categories.
