12.4 Million Beneficiaries of ERC Sacrificial Meat Project Over a Decade

Abu dhabi: The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) announced that its sacrificial meat project stands out as a key component of its seasonal and humanitarian efforts, which are carried out annually to support families within and beyond the UAE. This initiative reflects the values of solidarity and compassion inherent in Emirati society.

According to Emirates News Agency, the project has undergone significant expansion over the years, both locally and internationally. This growth has led to an increase in the number of beneficiaries and the geographical scope of the initiative. Over the last ten years, the project has reached 12,453,538 people in the UAE and 120 other countries. Within the UAE, 722,060 beneficiaries received aid, with 72,206 sacrificial animals distributed locally during the same period. Internationally, the project supported 11,731,478 people.

In addition to the sacrificial meat project, the ERC has implemented seasonal programmes that have benefited over 15,000 people within the UAE through the Eid clothing initiative. Additionally, more than 446,000 beneficiaries outside the country have received support through this programme.

The ERC has finalized preparations for the current year's sacrificial meat project, aligning it with the 'Year of Family'. This step underscores the ERC's commitment to broadening the scope of beneficiaries across all emirates and amplifying the project's impact both locally and internationally.
