Abdullah Bin Zayed Engages in High-Level Diplomatic Meetings at UNGA80

New york: H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, conducted a series of high-profile meetings with foreign ministers on the sidelines of the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA80) in New York.

According to Emirates News Agency, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah held discussions with Ayman Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs of Jordan; Juraj Blan¡r, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovakia; P©ter Szijj¡rt³, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary; Lars L¸kke Rasmussen, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Denmark; George Gerapetritis, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece; Radoslaw Sikorski, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland; and Maria Theresa Lazaro, Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines. The meetings focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors, including economy, trade, investment, culture, education, health, agriculture, technology, artificial intelligence, food security, renewable energy, and climate.

The discussions also delved into topics on the UN General Assembly agenda, particularly those concerning multilateral efforts and cooperation within international organisations. H.H. Sheikh Abdullah emphasized the UAE's commitment to fostering constructive collaboration with friendly and brotherly nations around the world, aiming to advance multilateral partnerships in support of sustainable development.

In addition to these ministerial meetings, Sheikh Abdullah engaged with Dr. Comfort Ero, President and CEO of the International Crisis Group, to discuss the group's programmes and strategies aimed at enhancing humanitarian responses globally. He also met with Dr. Mirjana Spoljaric, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), where they focused on cooperation between the UAE and the ICRC in the humanitarian and relief sectors, and on supporting civilians' needs in various regions worldwide.

The meetings were attended by several key UAE officials, including Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, and Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and Special Envoy for Climate Change, among others, highlighting the UAE's comprehensive approach to international diplomacy and development.
