Abu Dhabi: H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, hosted a delegation of legislative council leaders from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states in Abu Dhabi. The delegation was led by Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council, and included Jasem Mohamed AlBudaiwi, Secretary-General of the GCC.
According to Emirates News Agency, the delegation comprised Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Sheikh, Speaker of the Shura Council of Saudi Arabia; Sheikh Khalid bin Hilal bin Nasser Al Maawali, Speaker of the Shura Council of Oman; Ahmed bin Salman Al-Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives of Bahrain; and Yousef bin Ali Al Khater, Chairman of the Internal and External Affairs Committee of the Shura Council in Qatar.
During the meeting, which took place in Abu Dhabi, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah and the GCC leaders explored potential avenues for enhancing cooperation among GCC states. They reviewed several issues of mutual concern, focusing particularly on advancing joint Gulf efforts.
The discussions also covered the dangerous developments in the Middle East and their implications for regional peace and security.
