Abu Dhabi Ports Group Boosts Supply Chain Resilience with 70,000 Container Handling Through Fujairah Terminals

Abu dhabi: Saif Al Mazrouei, Chief Executive Officer of the Ports Cluster at AD Ports Group, has announced that the group has effectively managed over 70,000 TEUs through Fujairah Terminals. This achievement coincides with the processing of more than 100 cargo vessels daily amidst recent regional developments.

According to Emirates News Agency, Al Mazrouei emphasized the crucial role played by the group in fortifying supply chains and enhancing operational resilience, ensuring the seamless flow of goods and trade throughout the UAE and the broader region. During his remarks at the 'Make it in the Emirates 2026' event, he noted that Abu Dhabi, guided by the UAE's leadership, had early on recognized the strategic importance of investing in advanced infrastructure and integrated logistics. This foresight has maintained supply chain efficiency under various circumstances, ensuring the uninterrupted movement of goods in local and regional markets.

Al Mazrouei highlighted the UAE's robust supply chains, supported by a comprehensive logistics network connecting Zayed Port, Khalifa Port, and Fujairah Terminals. This network also extends to neighboring countries such as Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait. He pointed to the successful implementation of alternative routes, particularly the 'Green Corridor', which allows cargo arriving at Fujairah Terminals to be processed as if it had reached other major UAE ports. This initiative has solidified Abu Dhabi Ports' status as a key regional logistics hub.

The CEO also discussed the activation of alternative routes and the redirection of cargo through land, rail, sea, and air corridors. These measures have maintained supply chain continuity across Gulf ports despite regional challenges. Al Mazrouei further revealed that AD Ports Group has launched new regional container shipping services, expanding its fleet to 24 vessels dedicated to container and bulk cargo operations, with future capacity increases planned.

The group has ensured the continuation of regular shipping services to Khalifa Port and along the primary trade corridors linking the UAE's eastern ports, the Arabian Sea, and the Red Sea. Regional shipping services operated by SAFEEN Feeders and Global Feeder Shipping have also been rerouted through Fujairah and Khorfakkan ports on the Gulf of Oman, providing an efficient alternative logistics gateway for the UAE and GCC States.
