Abu dhabi: Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) has introduced a new digital service enabling employers to register and pay employees' salaries directly through its mobile and corporate banking applications. This service allows individual employers to use the ADIB Mobile Banking app, while corporate employers can utilize the ADIB Direct app.
According to Emirates News Agency, ADIB is among the first banks to offer this service, which aligns with the UAE's Wage Protection System (WPS) regulatory framework. Developed in collaboration with Al Etihad Payments (AEP) and the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE), the service ensures full compliance with national regulatory standards.
The integration of WPS enables employers to retrieve and verify employee data, validate salary information, and report paid and unpaid salaries with necessary justifications. The solution also includes in-country employee verification and enhances transparency, auditability, and regulatory reporting.
The digital-first solution aims to improve accuracy and provides employers with greater compliance, visibility, and control. It eliminates the need for physical documents and offers direct access to MoHRE databases through ADIB's secure digital banking platforms.
This initiative underscores ADIB's dedication to offering Shari'ah-compliant, regulator-ready digital solutions across its personal, small- and medium-enterprises (SMEs), and corporate banking sectors. The new solution exemplifies how ADIB is transforming customer experience as part of its vision to become the world's most innovative Islamic bank by 2035.
