AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027 Rescheduled to December 2027

Riyadh:The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has announced that the AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027 will now take place from December 23, 2027, to January 21, 2028.

According to Wam, the tournament was initially planned for January 7 to February 5, 2027. The decision to postpone was reached following extensive discussions and close consultation with the Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027 and the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF).

The AFC explained that exceptional circumstances led to the difficulty in holding the tournament as originally scheduled, and the postponement was made in the interests of all participating teams, officials, spectators, and other stakeholders. The new dates will be submitted to FIFA for approval.

The AFC also praised the SAFF and the LOC for their dedication to delivering a world-class tournament for the continent's players and fans. The AFC will maintain close collaboration with the LOC, participating member associations, sponsors, broadcast and commercial partners, and all stakeholders to ensure the competition's success while minimizing the impact of the postponement.
