Ajman: The Municipality and Planning Department - Ajman (MPDA) has introduced an automated system to streamline the issuance of residential villa building permits for UAE nationals. This initiative, aimed at expediting construction procedures, involves five-star-rated engineering offices to enhance customer experience and improve engineering quality.
According to Emirates News Agency, the initiative aligns with Ajman Vision 2030, focusing on creating a modern environment to boost the Emirate's allure and quality of life. The new mechanism permits five-star-rated engineering offices to directly approve architectural and structural plans without prior MPDA engineer review. However, post-audit reviews will ensure adherence to local building codes and technical requirements.
Dr. Eng. Mohammed Ahmed bin Omair Al Muhairi, Executive Director of MPDA's Infrastructure Development Sector, highlighted that this initiative seeks to enhance the citizen experience and reduce the time required for permit issuance. MPDA has selected eight esteemed engineering offices based on their professional records and adherence to technical standards, setting a benchmark for others.
Al Muhairi further explained that the initiative is founded on four strategic pillars: smart transformation and streamlined procedures, enhanced service quality and customer satisfaction, improved technical performance and engineering output, and collaboration with the private engineering sector to foster sustainable urban development.
Eng. Ahmed Sultan Al Nuaimi, Acting Director of the Buildings Department, emphasized that the initiative supports the development of a smart city attuned to residents' needs. It also fortifies public-private partnerships based on trust and shared responsibility to deliver high-quality services. The initial phase targets five-star-rated engineering offices, residential villa owners, and government bodies aiding the construction sector in the Emirate.
