Abu dhabi: China's National Meteorological Centre issued an orange typhoon alert on Sunday morning following the landfall of Typhoon Noul in south China's Guangdong Province. The typhoon brought with it maximum winds of Force 14 near its center, as reported by Xinhua News Agency.
According to Emirates News Agency, by late Sunday morning, Typhoon Noul had weakened from a severe typhoon to a typhoon. China's weather warning system is categorized into four tiers, with red being the most severe, followed by orange, yellow, and blue. In response to the evolving situation, the center has renewed a red alert for rainstorms and a yellow alert for severe convective weather.
Authorities have been urged to bolster efforts in preventing and responding to potential disasters, including flash floods, landslides, and mudslides, as the region braces for the impact of the typhoon's aftermath.
