Abu dhabi: Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi celebrated the graduation of 23 interns, residents, and fellows from its Graduate Medical Education programmes. Among them, 19 are UAE nationals, highlighting the hospital's role in cultivating the next generation of clinicians trained in the UAE.
According to Emirates News Agency, the ceremony, held at the hospital's auditorium, honoured physicians who completed rigorous training across specialties such as emergency medicine, internal medicine, anaesthesiology, otolaryngology, general surgery, and cardiology. The event also marked the graduation of the institution's first-ever cardiology fellow graduates.
Dr. Georges-Pascal Haber, Chief Executive Officer of Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, congratulated the graduates, stating that these professionals represent the future of healthcare in the UAE, driven by expertise, empathy, and purpose. He emphasized the hospital's support for their growth as they assume leadership roles in medicine.
Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi's academic programmes, recognized by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education International (ACGME-I) and the Emirati Board, offer a clinical learning environment that integrates international best practices with a commitment to the UAE's healthcare strategy.
These programmes contribute to the hospital's commitment to Emiratisation and align with UAE Vision 2031, which aims to empower Emirati talent across sectors, including healthcare. Dr. Sawsan Abdel-Razig, Chief Academic Officer of Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, noted that the Graduate Medical Education programmes have trained over 289 physicians, many of whom are UAE nationals advancing care and innovation in the UAE's healthcare system.
