Digital Dubai Launches Labour Force Survey 2026 Targeting 5,000 Households

Dubai:The Dubai Data and Statistics Establishment (DDSE) at Digital Dubai has initiated the Labour Force Survey 2026 in the Emirate of Dubai. This survey is targeting 5,000 citizen and resident households to gather comprehensive and current indicators on labour market conditions. The aim is to support the development of data-driven economic and social policies and facilitate informed decision-making.

According to Emirates News Agency, the survey is part of DDSE's efforts to create an integrated statistical ecosystem that will enhance Dubai's readiness for the future economy. It aims to monitor and measure key characteristics of the labour force, such as economic participation rates, employment and unemployment levels, occupational composition, educational attainment, and the sectors in which workers are engaged.

Additionally, the survey will provide detailed insights into job seekers and job-search methods, aiding in the design of initiatives and programs that support human capital development and align skills with the evolving needs of the labour market. The sample for the survey was designed using a robust statistical methodology to ensure that it accurately represents all segments of Dubai's population, providing a solid foundation for evidence-based planning and anticipating future changes.

Younus Al Nasser, Chief Executive of DDSE at Digital Dubai, emphasized the importance of accurate statistical data in the digital economy and AI era for developing public policies and improving planning efficiency. He noted that the survey forms part of a broader vision to offer an up-to-date picture of the labour market, helping decision-makers understand economic and social changes and anticipate future needs.

The survey supports the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33) and the Dubai Social Agenda 33 by providing reliable data for developing policies that promote empowerment and quality of life. DDSE has urged cooperation from selected households and individuals to ensure the survey's reliability. The survey will be conducted through various channels, including phone calls, emails, text messages, and field visits by accredited researchers.

DDSE has reassured participants of its commitment to privacy and confidentiality, stating that all data collected will be used solely for statistical purposes in line with applicable legislation and standards, with no personal or identifiable information disclosed.
