Emir of Qatar and French President Discuss Ceasefire and Regional Stability Over Phone

Doha: H.H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, received a phone call from Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic. During the conversation, they focused on recent regional and international developments.

According to Emirates News Agency, the discussion highlighted the ceasefire agreement between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran. Both leaders examined international efforts aimed at solidifying this truce. Emphasis was placed on the importance of achieving a comprehensive agreement that ensures a lasting ceasefire, crucial for the stability of global energy markets and the security of international maritime traffic. The leaders discussed the significance of securing maritime routes and maintaining freedom of navigation.

Additionally, the situation in the Republic of Lebanon was reviewed. Both leaders underscored the necessity of de-escalation and containment of tensions, while advocating for intensified diplomatic efforts to sustain peace in the region.
